I’m using Mac book. I need an affordable software.
I need to learn some basic photoshop for my major.
I know I can take a class for it, but I’m late for my summer registration.
and the class that I’ll be taking will require some photoshop experience.

Thanks.
I’m going to take Urban Planning 101

Probably Photoshop CS4 or if you can get CS3 or lower it be cheaper.

Photoshop 7 or Photoshop Elements 7 is the most basic and easy Adobe software to learn. It is also very affordable and one of the cheapest out there. It is about 150 dollars but you can check on Adobe.com

Try gimp, it’s practically the same thing for free

Well if you are referring to actually using Photoshop, then there are really only two versions, and I actually don’t think they have the most current version of elements on Mac. Neither one of them is user friendly. Elements is the scaled down version and its about 70 bucks, but if you are using it for class you will be using CS3 and CS4 and they are about 300 bucks for a student. They are very complicated programs, and there isn’t a beginner version. There is only Adobe Photoshop. If your class requires have photoshop experience you probably shoudn’t be in it if you don’t even know what version there are.

GIMP is free Open Source that does just about anything that Adobe Photoshop can do, however, if you’re just interested in learning, and you can learn what you need in less than 30 days, go to Adobe’s website and download the demo/trial version of Photoshop CS4 and practice/learn.

Photoshop Element will be the best option. Other versions of photoshop are expensive.. You can download a trial versions of these softwares from adobe site.

Also try Gimp, which is free.. For beginners it is good..
