What is the South Nassau maternity pre-registration process?

Has anyone given birth at South Nassau Communities Hospital, on Long Island?

If so, could you please explain how to pre-register? My doctor says I can do it any time now, and it looks like you need to be registered to sign up for their classes. The hospital web site isn’t very helpful–there’s an online pre-registration form, but no way to submit it, from what I can tell.

Also, did you find their classes to be any good, and which ones did you take?

Thanks.

if its like the one where i live you basically just go in you dont need forms to pre register, you go to the check in station and they pre register you there you just fill out some liability stuff and what not like privacy stuff and then thats it. as far as classes, they are helpful to an extent, i opted not to take them just because you basically forget what you leanr or your not really thinking about it while giving birth and they pretty much just go over the obvious as far as how to care for a baby.

I didn’t give birth at South Nassau but at Good Sam. in West Islip and I had to preregister also (2 1/2 years ago with my 1st pregnancy and again with this pregnancy).

You probably have to fill it out and mail it, with original signatures…that is what I had to do. Call the Register’s office and double check.
