What are the chances of getting into a class if you are on the waitlist?

I am number 6 on the waitlist for microbiology because this was the first day i could register and there was priority registration going on. My mom got mad and told me not to waste my time but some teachers will accept the top five off the wait list and someone just dropped the class so i am now 5. Is it worth it? I saw its a good chance and at least try.
no nothing would…it won’t hurt at all and im in for the wait.
I’m on a waitlist for a class too. I’m like..number 4 or something. I’ve been waiting 2 weeks already to get into the class. Sadly, no one has dropped it yet. “Some teachers will accept the top five off the waitlist”..not at my school. It the class is only fit for 24 students..then that’s as many students the teacher is going to allow. Stay positive. I’m sure during the first week of classes, a few more people with drop the class during the add/drop week.
