Our school registration system has recently changed to be more up-to-date with other colleges. I registered for a class but I don’t know what some of the symbols mean when i check to see how many people are in the class. First it shows me how many people the class can take. The abbreviation for that is CAP (capacity, im guessing) Then another abbreviation next to that one is ACT ( actual, im guessing the actual number of people registered in the class so far maybe?) and next to that one is one i cant figure out. the abbreviation is REM. Does anyone know what that abbreviation means?

  1. Cyndie says:

REM, for my school’s online registration anyway, means remaining… the number of seats remaining so far

so that would be total number of spots-number of students already registered= REM (however many is left)

  2. Heather says:

CAP (capacity) = total number of spots available in the course
ACT (actual) = total number of students who have registered for the course at this time
REM (remaining) = total number of spots still available
