Last minute class registrations for college?

I was looking more closely at the Smith College’s core requirements at HBU and realized that I should’ve registered for Freshmen Year Seminar for the fall 2009 semester. Will I be able to call the school and have them register FYS into my schedule or any other classes that I might need to add to my schedule?
I graduated from Smith a few years ago, but when I attended, the freshman seminars were not mandatory. I didn’t take one; most people I knew didn’t. You can always change your schedule when you get to campus a few days before classes start, but you can only do so if the class you want isn’t already full. If you’re sure you do want to take one, and you know which, you can try calling the registrar’s office and see what they can do for you.
