I am past the deadline to drop a class, but I was told if I want to drop a class past the deadline that I would need to send him a letter. I need help in convincing the director to drop my class. Should I be honest or should I lie, the truth is I am struggling the work is too difficult. Or should I make up a bogus story about be sick or something?
Just tell them the truth, that the class is more than you was ready of take on at this time.
I hate to say it but coming up with a convincing story is best in this situation.
I dropped calculus before applying to grad school and I truly had to convince the admissions committee I was qualified.
Heres my advice
1. Hand deliver the letter to the administrator making the decision.
connect with them and explain, very well that you work forty or fifty hours a week, and that you are not doing well. Mention that the professor does a great job and that you enjoy class but you believe your gpa is more important. Tell the person you want to apply to grad school and getting a bad grade in this class would hurt your chances
The bottom line is that college administrators are sympathetic to people who try to take on the world. If you convince him you are on the path to success and that your gpa is important to you he should not have a problem
2. Dress well in a nice shirt with a collar, wrinkle free, tucked into slacks with a belt…….Looking your best will make a good impression
You have a much better chance at approval if they see you have pride in the way you present yourself. also you may earn the respect of the administrator (as they are generally older)
3) sound convincing, know going in that all they can say is no
4) make sure you really want to drop this class. Only you know the answer to this
